Our Mission: To know Jesus and to proclaim Him as Lord.
Rev. Al Stewart, Pastor
Dear Friends,
First off, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for pointing
your browser to our home page! The Kirk is a Non-Denominational,
Evangelical, Graceful, Loving & Balanced Community of Christians
located here in Forest, Va. which is a part of Bedford County in the
beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain area. We are celebrating our 25th
year of service to Bedford & the surrounding Communities this
year, while also turning our hearts toward the next 25 years (Lord
willing) of how the Lord will continue to use us for His purpose.
So if you currently do not have a place you can call home
“spiritually”, won’t you please consider giving us a visit soon?
We'd love to meet and greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus.
Also please go to the Sermons tab to listen online or Podcast any
of our messages which we pray will challenge, bless and
encourage you in your daily walk with Christ!
Be sure to please visit my “Pastor’s Page” tab for more
information and background about
my family and me.
In Christ Jesus,

"We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body." Romans 12: 4 - 8

Foundation Statement of The Kirk
The Kirk is:
* Biblical in Content
* Authentic in Nature
* Gracious in Attitude
* Relevant in Approach
The Kirk has been called together by God as a body of believers to fulfill His
purpose of experiencing Him through the person of Jesus Christ involving
persons in His redemptive activity. The members covenant with God and with
one another to seek God first, to serve God's family, and to share the "Good
News" of Christ with the world according to His purpose.
By acknowledging The Kirk not as a organization but as an organism with Christ
as its Head, our priorities and the means of accomplishing these priorities are
not fixed but are subject to change as we are led in unity by the Holy Spirit.
We are called to:
Worship God in open, less structured and various ways as led by the Holy Spirit.
This worship is to be a celebration and will always be reverent and to the praise,
glory, and honor of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Be the Body of Christ both in our corporate life and in our individual lives. To be
a loving, caring sharing fellowship, putting one another's interests above our
own. In all church life, we acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and Him as Head
of the body.
Be disciples and make disciples. The Kirk will extend the love of Christ and His
Word to all persons. The Kirk is called to present the claims of Jesus Christ,
leading persons to repentance and acceptance of Him as Saviour and Lord, and
into a new life as His disciples.
