History
The Kirk cherishes her history and was founded in April 1984 by a group of 40 persons
representing all age groups. The group met for worship for six years at the Forest
Recreational Center. In December 1984, The Kirk extended a call to the Rev. James R.
Dellert (Pastor Emeritus) to become her first full-time Pastor. He was installed along with the
first six elders by the congregation on Sunday, Feb. 10, 1985. The Lord then provided
though His people the necessary funds to complete the cash purchase of land the Church
had been seeking. The land was dedicated on July 7,1986 for a future home building site.
On Sunday Dec. 17th, 1989 a ground breaking ceremony was held on what is our present
home on Oct. 21st, 1990. Rev. Billy Miller came to the Kirk as Pastor for roughly 2 years
from North Carolina upon Pastor Jim's retirement, then Dr. Don Fowler served twice as
Interim Pastor including 2007-8 until Rev. Stewart came to us from the state of
Connecticut in November of 2008.
